Welcome to the Tyne and Wear bus preservation website.
The TWBPL was originally formed by a small group of friends who are dedicated to preserving North East buses of yesteryear.
Since forming the group formally known as the "Tyne and Wear bus preservation group" they now have more than 18 preserved buses and are rapidly out growing there current storage facility.
The decision was taken to setup up a formal group known as a non profit organisation and so Tyne and Wear bus preservation Ltd was born.
Each bus is still individually and privately owned but are all "on loan" to the TWBPL.
Leyland Atlantean MVK538R is the first vehicle to have been acquired as a group and work has already begun on its restoration.
